How to catalog your wardrobe without doing it all at once
A simple wardrobe inventory can start with five clothes you already wear.
Begin with favorites
Photograph a few frequently worn pieces in even light against a plain background. Add a useful name and category, such as navy trousers or striped shirt. Exact measurements and every label can wait until they are useful.
Add useful details
Color, size and season can help you find pieces later. Record fit notes or care instructions when they matter to you. Shoes, layers and accessories can come next; you do not need a perfect cutout photo for an inventory to help.
Keep it current
Add an item when you buy or rediscover it, and update the record when it leaves your wardrobe. Save outfits that worked. Review the inventory before shopping or packing to spot combinations and avoid accidental duplicates.
